General Secretary urges Gia Lai to harness high-tech agriculture

General Secretary To Lam urged the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to tap its potential in high-tech agriculture, processing industries and ecotourism during a meeting on January 6, 2025. He emphasized sustainable development, improving living standards, integrating economic growth with national defence, and preparing for the 2025-2030 Party Assemblies at all levels.

Prime Minister calls for foreign services to support 8% growth in 2025

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 6 stressed that foreign affairs in 2025 must support the goal of at least 8% growth. He praised economic, cultural, and technological diplomacy achievements and called for improved efficiency, deeper international integration, and a professional diplomatic workforce.

 EVN improves its operation to meet the demand. 

EVN announces US$4.5 billion investment plan

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on January 6 announced a US$4.5 billion investment plan for key projects, targeting an electricity output of 301-306 billion kWh. Last year, EVN generated US$24 billion in revenue, increased output by 10%, and improved reliability and productivity.

Vietnam's industrial growth hits 8.4% in 2024

Vietnam's industrial sector expanded by 8.4% last year, the strongest growth since 2020, according to a report released by the General Statistics Office on January 6. The manufacturing and processing industry led the development, increasing by 9.6%. The northern province of Phu Tho and the central province of Khanh Hoa saw remarkable growth rates of 45% and 136%, respectively.

Vietnamese medical unit improves health security in peacekeeping operations

Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 quickly protected UN personnel and the local community during a cholera outbreak in South Sudan. Efforts included detailed treatment protocols, infection prevention training, disinfection, and securing medical supplies. As the top medical unit in the region, the hospital supported disease control at all UN facilities, reflecting Vietnam's commitment and expertise in international peacekeeping.
