The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, covering an area of over 100,000 square meters, including 15,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and over 20,000 square meters of outdoor display areas, marks 242 domestic and foreign participants.

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Vietnam, Shovgi Mehdizade, said that the large number of participating countries at the exhibition reflects Vietnam's diplomatic stature.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to our Vietnamese friends on the grand and successful opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, which sees the presence of dozens of countries and numerous booths," Ambassador Mehdizade said during the 2024 year-end gathering between the Azerbaijan Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.

This event showcases Vietnam's military capabilities and highlights the level of economic development of the country. Besides, the number of participants from foreign countries is a brilliant witness of successful country diplomacy and its significance, which we are very pleased to see. I also was very impressed by the comprehensive and colorful opening ceremony, which depicted the country's history, culture, music, and military development, he emphasized.

The event was held to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan in 1959 and to 41st anniversary of the visit of Azerbaijan National Leader Heydar Aliyev as head of the Soviet delegation in 1983 with a special welcoming of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry's delegation attending the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024.
