Hanoi artists spread value of art

Art Talk helps improve mutual understanding between collectors, curators, and artists, fostering collaborations for uplifting values.

With an aim to promote art and its importance in charitable endeavors, a group of artists from Hanoi, led by collector Thuy Anh, have organized an art talk Beauty Vol.1: Ve Dep Hong Tam (Beauty of Kindness).

The talk features guests who are notable contemporary painters, artists, and critics from Vietnam and abroad. All of them have actively contributed to charitable activities and promoted the noble value of fine arts in society.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, collector Thuy Anh launched a collection of 128 paintings inspired by the fight against the pandemic and organized Red Spring Exhibition in 2021 and the Hong Duyen (Faith) Exhibition in 2022, among other community activities.

"This (Kindness Art Talk) is my wish to spread a beautiful spirit, beautiful artworks and beautiful actions in society," Thuy Anh said.

The project's first event brought together painters who have made significant contributions to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. A number of artists, book writers, politicians, diplomats, and art curators also joined the program.

Painter Dao Hai Phong remarked that Thuy Anh's art talk series is a humane and meaningful initiative.

"We talk about art, our passion to create, and most importantly, our desire to do good for society. The Art Talk is not only about personal stories, but more importantly about the connection between people and life, especially in difficult times," Phong said.

The artists agreed that the debate had set a good precedent, helping collectors, intellectuals, and artists to understand each other better, from which they engendered many ideas, improved cooperation, and brought positive values. It is an important source of excitement and motivation for them to continue toward true artistic creation.

Looking back on the difficult period caused by Covid-19, Thuy Anh and the artists wish to continue to promote the value of art at home and abroad through a beautiful and humane path.

After the success of Beauty Vol.1 on August 8, Thuy Anh planned to hold the next event under the theme "Blooming Flowers", which symbolizes the brilliant development of domestic and international art. Blooming flowers also represent abundance, devotion and prosperity.

Below are some of the artworks auctioned to raise funds for the victims of Covid-19:
