The construction is a part of Thac Trang (White Falls) tourism project, about 20km from Sapa town of neighboring Lao Cai province.

The bridge spans from the cliff and is suspended about 300 meters above the ground, offering a panoramic views of O Quy Ho pass and Hoang Lien Son mountain range.

The visitors climb to the sky-walk by elevator. The glass overhang spans 60 meters from the cliff so that visitors can go sightseeing, snap photos and experience exotic feelings.

The construction is attached firmly to a cliff of Hoang Lien Son mountain range, which is 2,000 meters above the sea level. According to the investor, the whole construction can withstand 3,000 people at the same time, however, only as many as 500 visitors are allowed to be in the glass platform to ensure maximum safety.

This is the second glass bridge in Vietnam, following the construction of the first one in at the Dai Yem Waterfall tourist site in the mountainous Moc Chau district, Son La province.

Rong May tourism site was built by an enterprise from Lai Chau province, with the total investment of VND1 trillion (US$43.2 million) comprising such items as hotels, bungalow, glass sky-walk, swimming pool, and an adventurous entertainment area, among others.

The construction of the first phase of the tourism site, when completed, is expected to attract up to 50,000 visitors annually as it benefits from connecting Sapa town with some popular tourist sites of Lai Chau province namely Tac Tinh, Putaleng peak, and Tien Son cave.
