Activities scheduled for 23rd Vietnam – China International Trade Fair

This event, part of the National Trade Promotion Program, marks the 23rd installment of the fair, alternating annually between Lao Cai, Vietnam, and Yunnan, China.

From November 10 to 15, 2023, the 23rd Vietnam-China (Lao Cai) International Trade Fair will be held at the Kim Thanh Exhibition Center in the Kim Thanh Commercial Area of Lao Cai City, featuring a variety of engaging activities.

This event, part of the National Trade Promotion Program, marks the 23rd installment of the fair, alternating annually between Lao Cai of Vietnam, and Yunnan of China, by an agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, China.

With the theme "Promoting the connecting role of Lao Cai and Yunnan - fostering comprehensive cooperation and sustainable development," this year's fair will host 529 standard booths, along with dedicated areas for tourism, automobiles, cuisine, and more, showcasing businesses from Vietnam, China, and various other countries and territories.

The fair serves as a platform for the display, introduction, and promotion of a diverse array of products, including agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, food, medicinal materials, machinery, equipment, raw materials, chemicals, construction materials, electronics, refrigeration, household appliances, footwear, consumer goods, household wooden furniture, and handicrafts.

Furthermore, the exhibition booths aim to boost investment, trade, and tourism, with a particular emphasis on products with import and export potential through the border gates of Lao Cai Province and those contributing to promoting Lao Cai's tourism sector.

In addition to the primary events, several side events are scheduled within the framework of the fair:

1. Main Event: The 23rd Vietnam-China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) - 2023

Duration: 6 days, from November 10, 2023, to November 15, 2023.

Opening hours: 08:00 to 22:00 daily.

Venue: Kim Thanh Exhibition Fair Center, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province.

Opening ceremony: November 10, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.

Closing ceremony: November 15, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. at the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of Lao Cai Province.

2. Set up a business delegation to import agricultural, forestry, and fishery products from China and Vietnam for trade transactions in Lao Cai Province in 2023

Event time: 1:30 p.m., November 10, 2023.

Venue: Star Hotel, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province.

Event content: Introduce the potential strengths and bridging role of the two parties, business trade activities, and sign a memorandum of understanding between businesses of both sides.

3. Talks between Lao Cai Province and the delegation of the People's Government of Honghe County

Event time: 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., November 10, 2023.

Venue: Bac Ha Room, 3rd floor, Muong Thanh Hotel, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province.

Content: Exchange and cooperation in border gates, industry, cross-border economic cooperation, and free trade.

4. Economic and Trade Cooperation talks between Lao Cai Province (Vietnam) and Yunnan Province (China)

Event time: 08:00 to 10:00, November 11, 2023.

Venue: Bac Ha Room, 3rd floor, Muong Thanh Hotel, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province.

Content: Evaluate the results of cooperation in economics and trade between the two provinces and propose cooperation contents for the future.

5. Conference on developing logistics services in Lao Cai Province

Event time: 08:00 to 11:30, November 11, 2023.

Venue: Hoang Lien Room, 3rd floor, Muong Thanh Hotel, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province.

Content: Introduce investment attraction policy mechanisms and projects and discuss issues of policy mechanisms, cooperation, import-export development, and logistics between Vietnam and China.
